Summary

MiniSpeed is a paid, one-time-purchase GPS speedometer. It shows your current speed in a Live Activity — in the Dynamic Island, on the Lock Screen, and while you use other apps.

Speed is calculated on your iPhone from GPS. MiniSpeed does not collect, transmit, sell, or share your personal data for analytics, advertising, or accounts.

Information we do not collect

MiniSpeed does not:

  • Create accounts or require a login
  • Show advertising
  • Include analytics or tracking SDKs
  • Sell or share personal information with data brokers
  • Build a profile about you on our servers (we do not operate an app backend that receives your location or speed)

Location information (on-device only)

MiniSpeed requests When In Use location permission when you start the speedometer. It uses the iPhone's GPS on device only to calculate and display your current speed while the speedometer is measuring.

If you leave MiniSpeed or use another app, a running Live Activity may continue to update speed until you turn the speedometer off. MiniSpeed does not request Always location permission, and does not use location for advertising, analytics, tracking, or any purpose other than showing speed.

Location and speed are not uploaded to MiniSpeed servers. If you deny location permission, the speedometer cannot show speed; nothing else depends on granting location.

Live Activities, Siri, and Shortcuts

MiniSpeed may show speed in a system Live Activity and may expose speed and status actions to Siri and Shortcuts. Those features run through Apple system frameworks on your device. MiniSpeed does not use them to collect personal data on our servers.

Purchases

MiniSpeed is sold as a $0.99 one-time App Store purchase. Payment is processed by Apple. We do not receive your full payment card details. Apple's privacy policy applies to App Store transactions.

Website

The marketing site at https://www.getminispeed.app may be delivered by a hosting/CDN provider. Unless we state otherwise on the site, the app does not collect personal data as described above. If the website later uses essential cookies or form submissions (for example, support email), that use will be limited to operating the site or responding to you.

Children's privacy

MiniSpeed is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Data retention

Because MiniSpeed does not collect personal data on our servers, there is no server-side personal data retention for location or speed. Data that remains on your device is under your control (including via iOS Settings and deleting the app).

Your choices

  • System Settings → MiniSpeed → Location (change or revoke permission)
  • Turn the speedometer / Live Activity off inside the app
  • Delete the app

Changes

We may update this policy if the app's data practices change. The effective date above will be updated, and the current version will be posted at this URL.
